Artist Statement

A woman came to my show in search of an up and coming artist to find a treasure and found nothing. I wondered how that was possible...

What is it about art? How does what I create become important or separated from the others? To me every piece is special. Where is my edge?

Instead of looking and always pressing forward, look back with me and allow the beauty of the past and future to be the melding of the now. Where are we going so fast?

We live in a world that looks so sad. The media paints sickness,
killing, divorce, unhappiness and loss. Who is fighting for the cause of beauty and light? no strings attached, no expectations, just kindness and compassion and acceptance.

It is all out there.

Art found my way, and God led me to it so many years ago. For that I am thankful. thankful for the unassuming beauty of nature. the kiss of a flower to my nose. the cool reminder of change.

There is so much to be thankful for, so much beauty and love in the people we meet. That is my art.

When you find your treasure, you will know it.
